Just cutting through the bs mate.
All products have issues. lt's just how we manage them that is the challenge . People don't give a second thought about the risks with petrol which is amazing when you consider how volatile it is . All we did was just introduce procedures and engineering solutions to make it relatively safe to use .
That's why Emma Sutcliffe got into evs . As a fire fighter she realised that there was very little information about ev fires and that fire organizations were very slow to respond with any training . l've heard her speak at a couple of events. She's a very normal practical person but also pretty smart and motivated . She discovered early on that the ev industry was evolving really quickly and that the bureaucracy of fire departments and governments were just too slow to react . The driver for her was the safety of firefighters attending an ev accident or fire.
lnitially fire fighters wouldn't even know whether a car was an ev or an ice vehicle . So you can see how dangerous that could be for rescue people at an accident . Ev Firesafe was instrumental in getting the ev stickers on number plates . Now they train firies how to identify an ev. Where the battery is . Where the fireman's loop is . How to check whether it's actually shut down . Etc.
Also they are being trained on how to manage an ev fire and the risks involved . Pretty basic stuff but it requires different methods to ice fires and it seems that no one had bothered to deal with that early on.
