What are the defects?The fuel hose may have been installed incorrectly and may come into contact with the engine oil level dipstick mounting bracket. As a result, fuel may leak from the damaged hose, and, in the presence of an external ignition source result in a vehicle fire.What are the hazards?A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders and/or damage to property.What should consumers do?Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Mazda Australia in writing to schedule an appointment to have the fuel hose inspected and replaced, free of charge.
