Many of these things attract subsidies initially . We are already seeing subsidies for solar wound back. No more generous FlTs anymore . Etc.

l have no idea why fossils need subsidies when it has been around for more than a century . lt's a parasite.

Then there's the Dud's nuclear plan. Another multi decade subsidy fest that can't support itself .

l'm actually hopeful that governments will look at a few subsidies for solar and batteries for industrial buildings . According to a study done by the Victorian Energy Policy Centre there is probably enough warehouse/industrial roofing space to power the whole grid from solar .

All these buildings are already grid connected and at load centres . Thus reducing the need for so much new transmission . Given the grid costs are at least half of an electricity bill here's a way to reduce that cost . Sure there will be some minor grid work to do but that's much better than building hv transmission in remote locations.
The sites are already classified as industrial so permitting will be much simpler. A godsend for anyone that has been involved in new projects .

By investing locally we are assisting many local businesses rather than sending the money overseas . Reducing local business cost as well . Who wouldn't want that ?

At the same time we are reducing the physical footprint of solar farms as the roofs already exist.

Sounds like a win win to me .
