I hadn't heard about TWRs before now so I just used my friend G. They would certainly solve a few nuclear waste problems if they made it through to commercial production. It is hard to understand why both TWRs and Thorium reactors have not had further development, especially now when the world is crying out for reliable, safe and non polluting base load power. Obviously commercial production must be so much more difficult than prototypes but they both seem closer to reality than hydrogen fusion despite the billions being spent on the latter..
