Sure.
But I think it was a technology worth investigating. After all, if it could be made to work it could lever off the well established oil industry and all it's existing technology. And, in theory, CCS does makes sense. It's just the application that is the problem.
There is an ongoing cost with any technology, including renewables. However renewables seem to be more sustainable in that we're not kicking the can down the road like we would be with CCS or nuclear.
I follow the CCS a bit so it will be really interesting to see what they come up with after this .
