You obviously don't have a clue as most coal mines are underground and the coal is extracted using longwall mining methods. Mining for renewables means that millions of tonnes of waste material is also mined as the % of BCM is considerably more. Oil and gas are also under the ground and its not necessary to chop down old growth forests and mangroves. The oil, gas and coal are the result of forests being buried millions of years ago by climate change. Far better to use this resource than destroying our current habitat.
Solar panel construction uses a huge amount of power to convert quartzite to silicon metal.
I guess you wouldn't have a clue as to how silicon metal is made.
95% is produced in China using coal fired power, power is too expensive in Western world as the climate change crazies have demanded that wind and solar be used thereby leading to expensive power.

SiO2(quartz) + C + lots of electricity = Si + CO2
in W.A. the silicon plant uses charcoal produced from jarrah logs (low ash) the local coal is unsuitable.
Not sure what the Chinese smelters would use.
