Yep. The west is acting in self interest. However, it is worth looking at the nature of that self interest.

Not caring about Africa ? Do you mean like how we've exploited the oil fields of Nigeria since the 40's ? How's the living standard in Nigeria these days ? How does it compare to the lifestyle of the average Norwegian ? Both countries have sold fossil fuel for a long time.
How has the west treated the Nigerians in that time ?

There's the part of the west like you that would rather continue selling a polluting resource that is causing mmcc and poor health outcomes. Particularly for the poor. Here you are championing the sale of dirty fuel and as you have posted previously, you are doing this for your own personal profit.

The other adults in the west have realised that we are wrecking the place by increasing atmospheric CO2 . So, in their selfishness to look after the place they live, they have decided to do something about it.

They have decided they don't want increased extreme weather events, species extinction, agricultural disruption etc. They want to invent new technologies so that everyone can use it and have a better standard of living. There's a fair chance that all of that is going to benefit every person on the planet. Even those poor people in Africa you wax lyrical about.

It's completely and absolutelu in the interests of the west to tackle mmcc.

    Selfish bastards, aren't they ?
