Victoria's aging brown coal gen has a long history of delivering a 80-90% capacity factor on a yearly basis.
All elec gen plant at some time require refurbishment and just like wind gen rarely catch on fire there can be rare failure with coal fired plant also.
In the US their aging nuclear plants still combine to produce electricity at over 90% capacity factor on a yearly basis.
Poor old wind gen would be lucky to crack 40% capacity factor (more like 35%) and solar is even less reliable as expressed in its capacity factor.
Thanks for your cherry picked examples ... sadly for you they are meaningless in the big picture of what is baseload electricity gen.
