A gas guzzling limousine used by Joe Biden has been spotted filling up with petrol at a BP garage in Edinburgh as the US President vows to make a difference with climate change. The huge car - nicknamed the Beast - is believed to only do around eight miles to the gallon and was seen with its decoy and another two of the huge SUVs which follow it. It is part of a 20-vehicle motorcade the President takes with him on every journey, and is being used to make the daily 90 mile round trip from Edinburgh - where he is staying - to the COP26 in Glasgow...
Biden has faced criticism for staying 45 miles away from the UN conference on climate change, with the 20 vehicles - plus UK police escort - all adding to his carbon footprint.
The Cadillac 'Beast' generates an estimated 8.75lb of carbon per mile driven - which is 10 times more than an average car.
Two identical vehicles - the one the President sits and and decoy are used for every journey.
These two cars let out 1575lbs of CO2 for each day as the entourage goes Glasgow and Edinburgh.
As the conference is set to last until November 12, around 20,000lbs of Co2 will be let out between the two cars during their stay here.
A helicopter also follows the motorcade on its journey - releasing more fumes into the atmosphere.
And to top it off, President Biden will travel in and out of the UK on Air Force One, while another decoy also flies behind.
Two further Globemaster planes then follow to hold the huge amount of cars the Presidential motorcade requires.
The Beast is a marvel of safety engineering, and hold everything that could possibly be needed in the event of an emergency.
