Do I really have to explain the difference between the grids in emerging economies such as China and India and those mature grids such as the US, the EU and Australia ?
The developing status of nations is something that needs to be dealt with . I suspect we will start to see some movement on that after the Glasgow CCC in October.
Unfortunately we had a climate denying muppet in the White House for the past 4 years . It made it pretty hard to bring the subject up when the second largest CO2 emitter didn't acknowledge mmcc.
China:
China has reduced it's percentage of power produced from coal by 20% in the past decade. It plans to keep it at that level until post 2026 and then start ramping it down from there.

China continues to invest heavily in renewable energy with a goal of net zero emissions by 2060.
Renewable sources already produce over 25% of their electricity.
