So far the Hornsdale battery is making good money from providing SA with emergency back-up.

a 2020 RBA review of renewable energy analyses the market as well as investment. Theres much to be understood in the report but this .....

    Investment Outlook

Investment activity in large-scale renewable generation projects has moderated from its 2018 peak and current estimates suggest it will decline further over the next year or two. However, the outlook for investment over the longer term remains positive. The pace of future investment will depend on factors including wholesale electricity prices, the government policy environment and electricity grid considerations. Investment in the transmission network and energy storage will help support a continued increase in renewable energy generation.

..... shows the market is there, investment is ready (the ARENA reports are also very interesting indeed) and the projects are being delayed by federal Gov. policies and approvals.

The NEED is also there.... if you can't see the NEED, its likely because you don't want to see the NEED as it stands in opposition to your beliefs/desires.

Domestic energy storage will become the mainstay support for the grid as many thousands of Aussies are installing batteries in their homes so that the unreliable grid (blackouts) doesn't disrupt their lifestyle. Battery installations take on average around 10 years to pay for the cost, but those who have batteries are reporting excellent results (better than the average).

Keep on with your quixotic crusade against batteries (tilting at wind turbines)..... they are not the evil knights bent on destruction but the future of energy, especially in local community grid construction (what's happening in WA, SA and NT?)
