Basically if we have gone over the edge - and it’s very possible due to warming already - and well may rate of rise be part of it - because there’s so much that we don’t know about how earth works - then we might have a rapid onset ice age dumping in our lap what we do know is that earth is a self correcting system And if it gets overheated - it will correct - and it won’t care a hoot about who is running about on the surface complaining about too wet or too cold or whatever we are at clear risk of doing the dodo here - the evidence shows that few species go on throughout major climate changes humans have developed into large societies that are completely dependent on very fragile technological systems what have we got that’s going to work under a kilometre of ice? not much

An isolated and anecdotal observation. To wit: I'm retired and living on the east coast (high rainfall, dairy country). And today we marked circa 5 months of no rain, save the odd little 10-minute shower. Never happen here before - as far as I can tell. Folks around here only have to look out their windows to see that something weird is happening to the weather - above and beyond the pending El Nino event.
