National Senator Matt Canavan says Australia “needs to invest” in“reliable power systems”.
Mr Canavan’s comments come as the energy market operator has warned ofblackouts this summer as Labor transforms the country into a renewable energysuperpower.
“Not just gas, we should be investing in coal as well, it’s still 60 percent of our electricity supply and as we shut down coal, our lights are goingout,” Mr Canavan told Sky News Australia.
