I go overseas twice a year. I have a CBA travel card which I have used for years and the only fees I pay is on cash advancements. Around 2€.50 per transaction. I keep euros in it usually, but if I go to Bali, I just use it and it converts to rupia. No fees on normal shopping, eg supermarkets or any kind of other purchases. It is accepted everywhere and has never caused me a problem. I wouldn't be without it.
    Cheers
