Story:
High rise rescue
An injured construction worker at the Beatrice Biodiesel construction site on Kinney Avenue in the Gage County Industrial Park is lifted out by a crane after the man fell from a ladder onto scaffolding set up in the tank. The man had been climbing a ladder when it came loose and caused him to fall, according to David Blythe, Beatrice Biodiesel managing director. While the man fell only about a foot and a half, the man indicated he had hurt his hip, and since it was not known at that point how serious or what kind of injuries he had suffered, precautions were taken by Beatrice Fire and Rescue when removing him from the tank. The man was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center where he was treated and released for minor injuries. He had no broken bones. Photo by Joelyn Hansen/Daily Sun staff
