NYC may be a smart move because that's where all the VC tech firms are. You gotta be in it to win it - building networks and attracting partners. It may catch the eye of someone.
I think giving it a couple of quarters is a sound move.
Snapchat started out with less traction than this. The only thing that worked for them was word of mouth. It took a bit of time to get going but it eventually snowballed into the 12 billion dollar giant it is today.
