    on SBS?

it was about the irrational fear of radioactive contamination from nuclear activities generally....

.....direct deaths from Chernobyl accident were expected to be approx 9,500 - according to the Horizon program last night there have only been 96 recorded deaths directly attributable to the melt down...

wild life in the area appears to show little sign of genetic damage....

Welsh sheep affected by eating grass contaminated by the radioactive plume were banned from being sold for food, but it turns out that if you eat lamb chops from the area every day for a year, then your radioactive intake would be equivalent to one dental x-ray for the whole year.....

and the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki have been habitable for many years with people showing no effects.....

so is the nuclear scare irrational? is it beaten up by those who have interests in other fuels such as oil and coal producers?

I don't know because I'm no expert but the claims of radioactive contamination causing every sort of health damage certainly appear exaggerated.....
