Built a program a long time ago to db and track shorted stocks per the pic below.
After awhile I dumped it as I was figuring the ASX data was 'misinformation' in that the 4 day delayed data (from memory) was only newly opened positions. IE it was not declared (at least at the time) that closed short positions were accounted. Therefore the data was erroneous and useless in providing NET short positions. Is it different now? I don't know and don't really care. However for anyone watching the shorted data I'd suggest being vary wary. IE as a test get the data and plot it against the stock data and test for any correlation. Does it correlate across a basket of stocks?
