Interesting figures on CER trades between 1-5/6/2009.
Net sellers include:
Comsec 4.6m
Etrade 2.5m
UBS Warburg 3.21m
Westpac 3.2m
Net Buyers include:
Shaws 8.2 m
Goldman Sachs 4.3m
CMC Markets 2m
JP Morgan 2m
Credit Suisse 1.2m.
Pattersons 1m
Bell Potter 1m
Macquarie Insto 630,000
It looks like the "moms & dads" (comsec, etrade & westpac) sold 10.3m while the "big boys" (goldman sach, jp morgan,Credit Suisse etc) were the accumulators.
Also explains why frequently few buyers on bid yet lines get taken at higher prices, large buyers aren't worried about half a cent when they want lines of stock.
Guess this post will also generate plenty of comment from the "one line ill researched posters" as usual on this thread.
