Just watched that linked video. Boy she can talk well, no notes and surely no teleprompter and she didn't miss a beat.
That said, I think she either swallowed her adviser's line or is being disingenuous in saying that he communicated Abbott's comments accurately but still thought it necessary for somebody to respond to those remarks. If he did what he said there was nothing to respond to. Only zealots still think there was. She accepted his resignation but then puts it in the best possible light.
