Politicians on both sides have been accused of sexual assault.
It seems to be common ground that alleged perpetrators have the benefit of the presumption of innosence. Our system also puts the onus of proof, beyond a reasonable doubt, on the prosecutor not the defence. The accused need say nothing.
When a politician, teacher, policeman or whoever is accused that shouldn’t be punished or stood down in any way unless they are found guilty.
However if teachers and policemen are to stand down pending a trial so should politicians.
One rule for all.
