@stonktrader Currently a German company called Jenoptik holds Victoria's mobile phone and seatbelt detection contract, supported locally by One Task, who are notably involved in a patent infringement lawsuit initiated ACE.
When Jenoptik originally secured this contract, they offered the most compelling tender at the time - I believe they had more experience then. However, since then, ACE has made massive strides, with a dominant presence across Australia and aggressively expanding into international markets that go well beyond Jenoptik. The Victorian contract comes up for renewal in 2026 I believe, which is very interesting given ACE's trajectory and the Victorian government's growing preference for engaging domestic companies.
Given the complexity and scale of these kind of contracts, preliminary discussions for future contract allocations are likely already underway - I have no doubts about that.
Initially, I assumed this heightened insto interest was primarily due to recent developments in Minnesota and Essex, but it's entirely plausible that the Victorian contract renewal is also on their radar (of course international markets are higher in value though). I am personally quite confident they will get the VIC contract when it becomes available again. If they didn't, I would be shocked.
