It is fascinating watching all the various media spin by special interest groups exaggerating a minor event - while considering the following. 1 - What would GAC have been paid by Ranger over the years ? Is there a record somewhere ? Ball park figure anybody? 2 - You would think there was no natural uranium outside the mine lease ? 3 - Is it not a fact that the Ranger operations are squeezed in on a ridiculously small mine lease - origins for that go back to the 1990's I assume. If the deeps mine goes ahead - site problems would continue I assume, through crowding of facilities, variations in the wet season overloading dams etc.
Although I am a supporter of mining - is it not arguable that this project could be suspended on various technical grounds without harming the National interest. I did own some ERA in another life - pre GFC I recall. BTW - is the heap leach extraction working now ?
