Gold is completely worthless. I don’t say this as someone who trusts central banks - the free market should dictate what money is and the interest rates.
However, a move from fiat money to an alternative has to be done organically as it certainly won't come from governments or banks. But nobody will organically switch to gold because online payments would be impossible - whoever tried this would have a massive living standard reduction.
Bitcoin is superior to gold in every way. Its use can occur organically and will do so as fiat currencies fall apart.
