here is article on latest acquisition. Wind energy growing at 20% pa and with global warming even more problematic this should be set to grow. Here is article:
BABCOCK & Brown Wind Partners has finalised the $14.7 million purchase of the 35-megawatt Eifel wind-power development in Germany and may soon have access to significant new wind assets bought by parent Babcock & Brown from Portuguese group Enersis.
BBWP was established last year by Babcock as a home for many of the wind energy projects the group has bought or aims to buy. The Enersis portfolio includes several hundred megawatts of wind power in Portugal, Spain and France. Spain is expected to be the fastest-growing wind-power market in the coming year. Enersis also has a pipeline of projects going through the permitting process. BBWP will examine the portfolio, bought in December, and make its mind up about which assets to keep. Under its establishment arrangements, BBWP also has rights to another 1000 megawatts of projects in the US, Australia and Europe.
The Eifel portfolio will give BBPW 706 megawatts of producing wind farms in total.
