The Blackjack plant at Charters Towers has a rather chequered and colourful history, and various companies ore parcels having been passed through Maroon Gold and its predecessors mills with not much to show for it.
With Thalanga gone and not many operating mills in the Charters Towers area due to a lack of gold exploration over the years, I guess the value of the Black Jack mill has followed the rising AUD gold price. Its literally the only permitted empty mill available for a lot of small stranded gold deposits in the Charters Towers area so I guess that is what Blake Cannavo sees in it.
