Quite different imho.
Biogas actually makes a lot of sense to me, collecting and utilising gas from landfill and from anaerobic digesters. Economics probably quite good often in these times of high gas prices, even before taking credits for greenhouse gas avoidance.
Making “diesel” from woody biomass is quite another matter, a lot more gathering and processing complexities, and inherently poor economics.
