Not true if that was the case stocks would only move on announcement days and track sideways on days with no news.
In fact its the balance between buyers and sellers within a share register on a volume basis that makes stocks move.
Stocks reverse trends all the time simply due to various mechanics which are totally unrelated to the company,
a few examples are.... profit takers on a given day over whelming keen buyers or the lack of sellers left willing to take a loss which is a example for ACR.
