active "bot"???, page-10

Thanks for that Botkiller. Just hope that the regulators, ASIC, take heed and have the guts to do something.
The owners of these "bot" orders completely dominate the markets that they enter and scare off legitimate investors or traders for fear of what direction the bot trader MIGHT take.
That certainly appears to be happening with ICN.
But, the $64 question is, is this particular "bot" acting for a genuine accumulator who wants to actually own ICN stock, or, just a sophisticated trader who is sucking buyers in and selling on the way up for some percentage gains? THe numbers involved over the last few weeks really have been extremely small, even when fully accumulated and one would wonder why a "sophisticated trader" would bother with such small numbers. mall fish are sweet??
But, that's how insidious "bots" are, they completely destroy trust and create huge uncertainty. Certainly NOT the level playing field that ASX purports to provide.
For the ASX it's all about volume and profit, FOR the ASX. They do NOT regulate, so, anyone who offers them a quid gets what they want. How Kerry Packer hasn't got into ASX by now is amazing. It is a better form of a licence to print money than any casino.
So, what is happening to the ICN market IS serious. We are entering a stage when very price sensitive stuff will start happening, commencement of drilling in 855 no less!!! This could be an absolute company maker, yet, we do not see any buying, certainly little selling, other than by the "bot". That is quite incredible given the anticipation that has been there waiting for 855 to be drilled.
Why? Is the "bot" really scaring off all potential buyers in the fear that it will just sell off if the SP rises with new buyers?? I have no idea, but, if that is correct, then, with the relatively small numbers that the "bot" has accumulated, there really isn't a huge accumulation that will swamp the market should the "bot" trader dump on a SP spike.
Who does the "bot" represent. We will soon find out with imminent anns that "should" attract some buying interest.
