I don't deny that science has progressed and helped the multitudes but it has also brought with it some baggage which is not always well documented - maybe we can leave that for another forum thread.

We both know an island is not representative of the whole world, so why use it.? And there will always be baggage!
No one said the world, humans, scientists, politicians or even medicine etc were all perfect, but life is still the best that it has ever been.
Like vaccinations, it is what is good for the overwhelming majority that is important.
