The Endicot site is a pollution nightmare.
LOL just dont drink the water and dont get too close to the areas where the im3ny build has dug into the heavily polluted soil. Green like the incredible hulk...
Polluted as all hell. Good site pick. But I guess it was cheap. Probably a real bargain like the used obsolete firesale kit. Cheap and dirty..More than 30 years after cleanup efforts first began at the former IBM Corp. North Street plant in Endicott, efforts to remedy a toxic spill continue with state environmental monitors proposing new efforts to lessen public exposure to the remaining hazardous chemicals.
The worst of the spill, discovered in 1979, has been largely contained to an area described as 70 acres on either side of the Norfolk & Southern railroad corridor in the Village of Endicott. The area in which the newest remediation efforts are directed is bordered by Oak Hill Avenue on the west, North Street on the south, Watson Boulevard on the north and Hayes Avenue on the east.
Under the plan proposed by the state Department of Environmental Conservation, groundwater extraction efforts will continue and be enhanced; areas where contamination exceeds safe levels will be covered by a variety of materials to minimize exposure; and vapor extraction systems will continue to operate to prevent workers from being exposed to potentially hazardous gases. Indoor air quality monitoring also will continue, officials said.
