Yes, if that doesn't disproportionately distract you from where the real game plan is played. Which along with understanding all the facts, mostly notably the risks of the project, provides a sound platform for an investment thesis.
If you don't have a sound qualify gate despite the relative quality of the project vs its peers and prefer to listen to the 'hope get rich' narratives, then you are simply asking for trouble. Plenty have taken that approach and found out it appears.
