One thing I would add is a comment on the post (not sure who the poster was) which says the construction space is changing all the time and that aconex might be a thing of the past in 10 years time.  We see the same changes in many industries and of course it is always possible that the tech of a particular company will be superseeded.  But you have to be realistic about who is likely to develop the new fancy tech in any given industry.  Is it the genius outsider working in his or her bedroom?  Or is it the company which is well placed in the industry, has the money to spend on developing tech and has the relationships with the clients?

people talk about the first mover advantage and aconex appear to have that.  They will be hard for other companies to get past from where they are now.
