If your suggestion is correct and all they did was disobey a general instruction from God regarding one random tree, then it becomes even more ludicrous. They got busted scrumping a piece of fruit !!. I have neighbourhood kids who sometimes pinch an orange from one of my trees. By your logic, I can damn them to eternal torment for the crime.

Sometimes I wish the apologists would take an intellectual step backwards and really look at the impact of what they're saying.
