I suppose it's the reason why he is getting booed that's causing a stir. Most are prob booing him for the 13yo girl slur last year. I don't blame people for being annoyed by the whole saga.
I find it very coincidental that this booing is brought up in the media around the indigenous round, not any other round.
Of course the media will play the racial angle but it is not about that. It's about a 13yo girl being put through that, not given the benefit of the doubt when she said "ape" wasn't meant to be racist and goodes' way he handled it post game. And all of this was the catalyst to him being Australian of the year.
Had he not sooked and milked it in the subsequent days he would've had more sympathy. Had he just made his stance , which he had a right to do, and did his best to make his point and publicly say it's done, it's a lesson learnt but it's time to move on he would've endeared himself more to the public. But headlines if "shattered" and "too distressed to play next weekend" didn't go over well with people.
