First there is nothing this country could not produce with all the competitive advantages it has.
Relative to our population the innovative capabilities of family co's and asx listed stocks imo is extremely impressive and far exceeds other larger economies.
So the problem is we r allowed to vote,because like it or not we vote these politicians in,whether coalition,labor,greens etc .
So can some one just confirm this ,as there is so much bs spread about this adani development ie adani will b 1 of approx 6 mines in this basin,beattie and newman (ex premiers from both sides) both said adani was always ready to build the railway for' its' mine .Fair enough imo.The money coming from the govt is to develop the railway so that all future mines will have access to the rail line ?.
Can we clear up that point before we keep saying the govt loan of 900m is to adani.
As previously posted i disagree with this bs as to y we need foreign capital,but the strange part is we on one hand have every possible competitive advantage any economy could ask for ie from lge scale agricultural /cattle land to natural resources to extremely innovative business,on the other hand all these advantages spoilt the crap out of the population to the degree we say we need foreign capital when anyone with half a brain knows all we need to do is value add and use our natural resources like other economies /countries use us/our natural resources..

As I have read it the money is basically to build the rail but that does not end the governments support or costs in the mine

Adani said they would build the rail but it would be 100% theirs and no one else could use it.

Normally any development that is required is done by the company who wants to develop a resource, regardless of it being a road, a port or power supply.

But Adani know that they have the State Gov over a barrel and have said no.
Just a case of horses for courses, Union muscle trying to negotiate with experts

So the government will build it and others (four I think) want access to it.

What is not clear is how much Adani will pay for their use of it, that may be a deal breaker as well, if I was Adani I would say we wanted a 50% discount on it's use.
