Sometimes a takeover offer is funded by the issue of new shares in the company making the bid. If that is to be the case what would be the impact on existing shareholders? Provided we are not paying a premium for the acquisition and get true value for our money the impact should be negligible. Am I kidding myself or could that be the case?
