Tel Aviv — January 11, 2018 — Elsight Limited (ASX: “ELS” Elsight is pleased to confirm that it has received a new purchase order from the autonomous cars industry. The order comes in the form of initial product for evaluation and testing from a leading industry supplier to car manufacturers.  The Company believes this development affirms the suitability of its technology for this exciting growth vertical and marks the beginning of significant activity in the sector to come.   
Elsight components deliver highly secured, two-way data, voice, and video communications in real-time, allowing for continuous data flow from the tested vehicle to the Command and Control development centre with “always-on” reporting of vehicular activities while preventing hacking of critical systems and vehicle takeover.  

This is a brand-new capability in the testing arena, where it is estimated that each autonomous vehicle will create 4,000 gigabytes of visual information on a typical day's driving. Until now, tested vehicles would collect this enormous amount of data on a 3-4 terabyte hard drive inside the car. Periodically, the storage disc would be removed and brought to the Command and Control Centre, where it would be downloaded and transferred to the engineers and programmers for further analysis. For the very first time, with “Elsight Inside”, engineers and programmers can receive and use this data in real time.

With Elsight’s technology, autonomous vehicle operators maximize vehicular control with a reduced hardware footprint to minimize costs. The solution delivers continuous and redundant high quality, two-way audio, video, data transmissions from remote locations, aggregating multiple cellular 4G/3G/ 5G and/or WiFi links to maximize bandwidth, with satellite backup to guarantee always-on connectivity. The vSIM capabilities accelerate upgrades and remote changes.  

The high-speed communications channel ensures direct control of vehicular electronics at millisecond speeds, allowing for immediate updates of road conditions, such as black ice, oil slicks, etc. Elsight’s system can also be used as the central hub of a visual transportation system with integration of up to eight cameras within a single device – all transmitting in less than 50 milliseconds.
