This tired divided, dysfunctional, vengeful govt has got its policies all wrong.

Aged people are dying waiting for Aged Care help but the govt seems fixated on
giving tax cuts to the top end of town. Extracts and link below:

"Rapidly ageing population shines spotlight on a crisis for people growing old at home

"With a rapidly ageing population, few Australians will emerge unscathed from navigating the vast and often complicated aged-care system — be it for a parent, partner or themselves.
"According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, about 15 per cent of the population is aged 65 and over, a figure predicted to rise to just under a quarter by the end of the century.
"There are a lot of people who cry on my desk and down town and in the aisles of Coles because they can't access services," said Julie Christensen, a residential aged-care provider in the WA Wheatbelt town of Narrogin.
"What's difficult to understand is how families can feel when they sit at home and they're waiting for a [Commonwealth] package to arrive — and they can't get it — and you've got wives that are sitting up all night with husbands who might be wanderers they're and they've got dementia and you can't get a service in the morning to shower them."

"In the past 12 months 16,000 people have died while waiting [for services], is that how we treat our older and our vulnerable citizens? It's really appalling."
