after a while you get used to them .lol . Having been through a 6.5 and numerous smaller ones i have discovered the merits of bells .Bells? yes bells ! I have them hanging in a few places at home and in my office as well ,that way you don't have to wonder "was that....?" As soon as the bells start ringing ,we stand in a doorway . Funnily the contents of my bedside cabinet include hammer ,torch ,small crowbar ,rope ,cold chisel ,first aid kit and bottled water .
Actually my interest in fault zones developed after my first earthquake ,it was amazing to walk out of my house to see the other side of the street flattened and a bloody great crack down the middle of the road .
