I believe the CCP have been pretty timid, up till now, but like all bullies they
will be caught out when either something goes wrong or the bullied fire back
with live rounds. Covert action against CCP activity in the South China Sea
is possible but the current batch of losers on the Treasury Benches won't
even have the guts for that. China recognises the current weak targets are
Australia and the Philippines.
Also, Burma is looking like the next place where China could fund, and supply,
a proxy war with the west. The fallout in Southeast Asia from this escalation
would further play into China's hand.
Appeasement has never been a good policy.

What escalation? You're saying that China are bullies because they haven't invaded anyone yet but are certain to because that's what bullies do? You don't see flaws in that thinking?
