    G'day fatsoh,

Without getting bogged down in pedantic detail over whether the coalition helped victims of asbestos I submit the following article from the age newspaper.

Interestingly towards the end of the article it quotes our good friend Mr Robson - who was clearly aware that Abbott had supported subsidising the drug Alimta for sufferers of the asbestos-related cancer mesothelioma in 2007.

"I have buried a lot of wharfies with this terrible disease," Mr Robson said. Alimta only prolongs life for an average of two months, but he said: "What it does do is give them a bit of soft landing."

So Abbott banned the use of chrysotile asbestos and later funded a research centre and later also agreed to subsidise the drug Alimta - it appears all while Mr Robson was involved with ADFA.

To my mind his statement that the coalition never helped is wrong.
