I agree!
The problem as I see it is that it is not a conclusive form of identification and might actually result in innocent posters (with single nics), being accused of having multi-nics, whilst giving those with multi-nics an out.
For example, there is now a cloud over your nic because you and mike_au1 sharing the same IP.
LOL...given that I currently have the same IP as blokes, I no longer trust a word I say either.
