The death of horses on the racetrack happens too often. Why wasn't it picked up if the horse had a cardiac problem, or was it related to the use of illegal drugs to make the poor b------d run faster.
As for trotters, I actually put one cruel b-----d in to the RSPCA for ill treatment of one of his horses. Years ago, but I think he got roasted.
Owned a racehorse or two once upon a time, but you'd have to pay me these days. Too many crooks involved.
Probably the only reason the 'sport' has survived is for crooks to launder their ill gotten gains. Had a friend at school whose father was a crook and that is how he 'managed' his profits in the heroin and prostitution trade. Drove a Rolls and lived in Darling Point, but finally his karma caught up with him and he died, at a remarkably early age, in Long Bay 'Correctional' facility. Very suss end, but who cares now. His daughter became a lawyer, lol.
Horse racing isn't much better than bull fighting which is now in its death throes.
