re: admits it deceived the un -not quite! if you re-read carefully, Dave, Lindberg concedes that the UN had been deceived, NOT that the UN had been deceived by AWB.
I read Lindberg's statement to the ASX on 18th, and if how it read was how it went, they really did nothing wrong.
IGB insisted that AWB pay a transport component to Alia. That was not negotiable.
The UN approved the transactions.
Now if the Alia component gets syphoned off further down the line, is it the fault of AWB? Did AWB deceive the UN directly? I think not.
Sounds like an awesome witch-hunt, Dave, no doubt fueled by those with political agenda and those trying to whiteant us out of the Iraq grain market.
Re-read Lindberg's statement to the ASX! Darned if I could fault it.
