So, turn to the elephant in the room - ignore the experts - listen to ignorant short term vested interests - peddle paranoid left wing conspiracy theories - protect consumptive economics.
Then suffer the consequences, but unlike the pandemic it will be too late to take remedial action. We will be stuck with our own stupidity for perhaps human eternity.
