Before everyone loses their mind about these Chinese tests being approved before ours, I think everyone should probably consider this.
The TGA or Government or both, obviously have to decide on a minimum standard of sensitivity they are going to require a rapid antigen test to be. It looks like it's a 90% threshold. This company's test meets it and most likely their tests have been in the TGA application for approval queue longer than ours, so they get approval before ours.
Now I'm not intending to start another round of this argument about why we changed from our original course, in what we would apply for, when, and how this has proved a misstep ( with the benefit of hindsight ), but that's what I see has happened here. In the channel seven news story on the approval of these tests in Sydney this evening, the segment ended with Mark Ferguson stating "there are several tests still waiting for TGA approval". I believe our time is rapidly approaching.
