OK, I've received a response from the company - so that's great Most of the response is all gobbledegook to me, but at least future LoT data will be in TCID50 (so will be much easier to compare data).

"The initial validation we completed did not have any associated TCID50 values with it, as this was the standard practice by VIDRL at the time. Similarly, other variants that have been supplied for the purposes of validation work, have not included TCID 50 values.The use of copied/ mL providers a more accurate reflection of the viral load at the Limit of Detection. TCID50, similar to a CT Value of a PCR test, will vary with method and type of platform used for evaluation. We are undertaking TCID50 as part of our new TGA submission as this is now the standard for Limit of Detection."
