RG the mind does start to think about all of the political strategies that are at play here with COIVD testing etc. I like your conclusion around lower number using self reporting etc. So it looks like a win win for the government from my perspective. The big boys club connected to the Federal Government get payouts from the Australian tax payer through the purchase of Chinese RATS which clearly won't pass the TGA standard required within a year of the EUA approval. So what the TGA says throw them (Chinese Rats) in the bin and use this approved test meanwhile the big boys club gets million dollar deals. This has already happened in the US and UK. Seems like a great way for the people connected with government power brokers to make some quick easy money from the government in a pandemic. IMHO.
