Yes the US election next Nov is a factor. If Trump is re-elected it could be bad for world markets. Bad for America. That is what I would think.
But someone like Bernie Saunders or Elizabeth Warren would spook the markets as well. Better for the country in the long run, but short term cold be very destabilizing. And the world economy doesn't need to be destabilized.
Bloomberg would be good I think.
